Psychic Kids and Intuition
So many times in the last year I have heard parents mention the abilities they are becoming aware of in their own children. They speak with a great deal of pride yet they are concerned as they don't know what to do for their kids because Grandma had the "gift" but they don't.
I have been asked, "How can I help my child and how can I understand the needs of a gifted child?" My answer is usually the same. We have to acknowledge their gifts, don't be afraid and don't dismiss them. Children born with intuition or psychic abilities always feel like outcasts or misfits. They don't understand the messages they get, sometimes they are afraid and often they think they are just plain crazy. They feel like rejects of society and begin to get depressed and give up on themselves.
If you have a gifted child, I suggest you learn about psychic development. Learn the language of the trade and understand what they will need in order to control their insights, manage their visions and protect themselves because Spirit will come through any vessel available.
Sometimes there are concerns that Spirit keep them up at night or they see things they can't understand. Sometimes they are so bombarded with voices and feelings and things they see that they can barely keep themselves focused on their class work or their duties at home. This is misleading to the parents as they might see the child as lazy, or as day dreamers not willing to work hard to get good grades or worse yet, they have some kind of mental defect.
I think it is important that these children, teens and "tweens" learn there are resources out there. It is important to find someone that is teaching children and help these kids network so they can share their experiences with each other. It builds confidence and helps them get better control of the paranormal in their lives and relieves the stress each parent goes through when a child walks in the room and says, "I just saw a ghost in my room."
I will be working on developing a workshop in the near future and setting up methods of teaching for both the child and the parent to attend. This will allow parents to network and kids to network in this ever changing world along with giving each other the support they need.
We cannot turn our backs on these children that need our love, support and training. These so called misfits that are hidden in society today will become the norm in the next decade. It is our duty to assist them in dealing with their fears and teaching them that they do have control over what comes to them and when.
Keep your eyes and ears open for a future workshop to discuss these things and to introduce the Lansing area to some much needed help in this field. I hope you will join me in my endeavors to help the children, teens and young adults that are gifted, to understand that they are not weird or freaky but possess a natural ability within themselves and that they are simply gifted. I hope you will be patient while I pull together material to have a workshop that I feel will benefit everyone.
Classes with children and teens under the age of 18 will require an adult in attendance with them.
